Need help desperately..

I'm a sec 4 student, taking O levels this year. My subject combination is English, Chinese, A.maths, E.maths, Pure geog, Combined humans, Pure Science and Pure Chem. Had my prelim results 1, and i'm really disappointed.

I'm really struggling with my sciences, in a huge dilemma whether to drop to combined. Honestly, i don't study much. Cause i don't see the point of studying. Sometimes, studying hard doesn't guarantee good grades at all. And it makes even more disappointed. Prelim 1 results really gave me a wake up call, that i got to start studying, especially when throughout the whole of last year, i've been slacking a lot. Also, I tried to ask my friends for help in my schoolwork, but i can't possibly be asking them for help all the time. I really tried studying recently, but it really takes a lot of effort and discipline for me to even start studying, especially when my computers are at my study table.
I'm really getting stressed, cause i have to do well. But i have absolutely no discipline at all. I sleep in the day, until almost midnight, and start studying till around 4am. What should i do........

I understand how you feel,but from pure science to go to combined is still about studying
Combined science ,though easier , doesnt mean the format is easier .The trend in Combined Science is getting tougher every year.As a combined science Tutor and a former O level student , I hope you make use of this forum to ask and work hard .Its only 4 months and you take the O level
Success depends on you .With a good O level grades ,then you will go to your dream course in Poly .

I'm planning to go jc, but with my results, i know it's impossible. Yup, i have tuition. Amaths and physics tuition. Physics is much more interesting as compared to chemistry, and i absolutely do not have the motivation to study for chemistry.
The prelims paper was tough, especially physics. I studied the day before and that's probably why my result was like crap. So i totally deserved that lousy grade...

u have enough for L1R5
im not saying u can straight away give up PHY/CHEM bcos u can rely on the other subjects
but hor.... 万一..... 万一........ one of the other subj oso hor-lan then finish egg liao
sch paper usually set a bit higher standard than Osthese results may not be indicative enough
as for discipline, it is all in the mind

L1R5 of 23. Very terrible.. I still trying to improve on my physics, since tuition is indeed helping me in certain topics alr. But overall, i'm still very weak. I have to drop pure sciences if by prelims 2, i still can't attain a grade of at least b4. Prelims 2 is in a few weeks' time, yet, i'm still not studying yet.

That's before I woke up my idea and studied a little harder.

My physics tuition is a class, not one on one. He's teaching is good tho. I understand him rather than my ex physics teacher. And yup, I'm rlly trying to buck up on my results, as I really want to qualify for a jc, although it's like kinda impossible.... ;'( Anw, thanks guys for ur comments. Much appreciated. :)

Ok, I see that you have 8 subjects currently. Though I'm not sure if your school had already registered this year's O Level for you, if not you should really consider dropping 1 subject that you are really weak in.
If you are going to JC, you need L1R5, meaning 6 subjects. After dropping 1, you have 7, more than enough to apply to JC.
Don't ruin your other O Level subjects just because one subject is affecting you, think of the bigger picture.
Speak to your parents or form teacher for advice!
