Hello! I am a sec 3, going sec 4 next year and I have some doubts on the sit. writing.
1. Do you compare the options by a few criteria (eg safety, convenience) or by writing about each options in different paragraphs (eg paragraph 1: write about option A, paragraph 2: write about option B)?
2. Does anyone have any examples of a good sit writing for me to analyze?
3. Is getting 18/30 a normal score? I see people getting 26 and I get pretty intimidated :O sadly, I didn't have the chance to borrow their answer scripts to see :(
I really need help because my 'O' level is coming soon (nov, i guess a year more ><).
Thank you ^-^
bump :(
Usually, when school reopen, that's the time the English teacher will start drowning you with Situational writing resources, model articles, tips, and the marking scheme.
18/30 is consider average. You may have left out some important points in your writings, structure of the essay is not clear, and average is the choice of vocab you use, and a few grammar errors.
A strong writing is a one with very clear structure, able to communicate information in writing fluently, and ability to use vocab words, with little or no major grammatical errors.
I find it a good way to practice writing situation essay by "pretending to be eye witness".
