Hey readers,
My O level result:
I have 6 subjects but failed 3 subjects which is Math, Combined Humanities and Combined Science. Each scored D7. Thus no polytechnic would want to accept me.
So this year, I'm only reaking Math, combined Humanities and English again. (English: C6)
If Im not retaking Science, does it only affect all my engineering courses in polytechnics?
Need advice, thank you!
Without the science, you may find yourself limited to very few course for poly. Without science, you can't go into engineering and science courses. Why not re-take science too, it will very helpful.
Yes, retake science. :)
Many of my friends say if i've no interest in science.. then don't bother. True enough.. i hate chemistry... it's just too difficult for me :(
Another question: How about my ezlink card im using now? Tell the person to extend it or i can use it as per normal?
retaking as pte candidate got no concession iirc
bcos u are technically not student
Nothing is too difficult for anyone. It's whether you have the conviction to do something. This forum is here for a purpose.
Your ezlink card, you will not be able to use it already, best is to go down to Transitlink and return your ezlink card and at the same time purchase a new ezlink card. The remaining amount left in your old ezlink will be transfer to the new ezlink card.
Are you aware that Normal Academic students could skip O levels and enter into a Polytechnic in 2013? (This is not an advertisment or scam !). Check this out :

You will have to talk to the college again If you have the will, you will find the way
The private candidate registration at SEAB have not even started yet. .
Just retake science
I dont think you can choose many courses without science.
Science and maths are very important in poly or uni.
English no use, you fail english still go into poly.

[ Sorry my bad, register at SEAB website somewhere around march. ]
Anyway, thank you guys for all the reply.. maybe like what my mother say, even I want to retake.. no foundation.. no interest.. at the end still D7. Waste time when I can study others..
I should focus on my English, Maths and Combined Humanities now…
If I met any problem in my Maths and Humanities, can i post it here?
It's just that....... you have not met a good teacher that is able to motivate and change your thoughts. Don't make it sound like it's your inability to excel on a particular subject. Everyone got the potential to excel given the right opportunity, time, and resources.

Musn't keep your hopes too high I've been through DAE too, so I understand the feeling of getting rejected.

if i am not wrong 30% ba, for pure, btw u going to retake maths?
Originally posted by shabushabu:Guys, i’ve decided to retake my science. But but… not in the private college i’ve registered.
Its too expensive because with the usage of laboratory. Is it possible to register in SEAB website even though i’ve registered with my private college?
Does practical play a large part for my overall combined science’s grade?
Please advice!!
When the time comes, your college will register you as a private candidate on behalf of you. You still have time to ask if they are willing to help you admend/and add in your additional science subject during the registration. You will have to speak to the administrative staff from the college and highlight to them that you wish to add in a subject during the private candidate registration but however you do not wish to enrol into their science programme. Communication is key.
Practical weighs 15% on the combine science subject.
[Because you have taken O level science practice before, therefore it is not complusory for you to enrol into science practical programme. If you require help in your practical, ask in the forum. You need to be responsible when you in a science lab. Best is to be prepared before you step into the science lab. ]
