Hi all, need some advice here! I'm currently awaiting admission into poly, im going into a design course. But i realised my ultimate aim is to get into a local university, I plan to do Business/ Law.
So im debating on whether i should sign up as a private candidate & retake ONE olvl subject and go to a relatively good JC, or just work super hard and aim to score a good GPA in my course?
I have enough interest in my course but I haven't started school yet so i don't know how good will i be at it! Certain courses in poly require alot of hard work to get a good GPA and so does mine but as its a design course im sure talent will be needed too? I dont want to waste my time making the wrong choices so I want to make sure i take whatever opportunity there is asap to secure a place in a local uni in the future.
Btw, the subject i plan to retake is pure biology, and i plan to study at home, go for tuition and im aiming for an A1! Yes i plan to do all these while doing my design course in poly. I'm quite determined about this. But im not sure about the risks involved, so i need some opinions! Thanks :)
Be sure you take Pure Chemistry. Better yet, take triple Pure Science.
That'll help widen your opportunities at 'A' levels and subsequently, at University level.
Even if you're sure you wanna do Law or Business in the future, it's always a good idea to keep your options open.
Besides, one advantage Science graduates have over Business graduates, is that (like many PAP ministers) you can still do business with a Science degree, but not the other way around.
