question answered, thanks!
Originally posted by eirsel:Hi, I recently did my chem spa 2 and realised I made some careless mistakes and lost 2 (or maybe 3) marks so I'd probably get 17 or 18 for spa. just wondering if it'd affect the overall A level grade (even if we do well in our written papers)... I heard from my friend whose school teacher (one of the top 5 JCs) told them that there's a trend -
19 or 20 for spa - overall A grade for As
18 - B
17 - C
...I got quite worried so I'm hoping someone could clarify. Thanks in advance!
You can compensate by doing exceptionally well in your Papers 1, 2 and 3. SPA is just a small percentage of the total score, and it is only the total score that determines your grade (via a bell-curve).
ah, thanks! was really worried about that 'banding' thing
