Hi, i was wondering which degree has a better Job prospect in terms of salary and future promotions. I heard that the economy is not doing well now and thus the Economics & Finance degree might not be of good value in the job market.
Another scenario is that it takes 3 years to finish the degree in Accountancy(16 modules) while 3.5 years to finish Economics & Finance(20modules).
Econs is a very general degree which does not have any particular specialisation in fact.
Just follow your interest, and you will find a path opening up for you if you look hard enough.

The entry salary will depend more on your academic results than the type of degree.
The future salary and future promotions will depend on your job performance.
Whether to take accountancy or economics and finance degree will depend on your aspirations.
An economics job, accounting job or finance job can be very interesting and challenging or very boring will depend on where you work and job scope.
The types of degrees are important only if you are new and a fresh graduate. After a while, any degrees have their own advantage.
Any degree is fine. Its how you "sell yourself" during the job interview that matters the most. After the second job, its all about relevancy of your working experiences.
So just take any degree course you like the most and don't worry about the job situation too soon...there are good jobs out there for the "confident" fresh graduate.
My advice is that you study what you enjoy...becos of the reasons above mentioned.
