An Introduction to Historical Analysis

Do you feel bored and turned off by above type of history textbook? If yes, then history is not for you.
how about which one you would enjoy more?
geography. geography do not need as much inference skills as history required.
flip a coin
History. Geography you need to measure a lot of things using a pathetic string.
For history, next time you know who to vote for because you can infer correctly
There are two parts to Geography, if I'm not mistaken. One is physical geography, where you learn about the rocks, plate tectonics, etc. I wasn't a big fan of it and in fact, after scoring badly in it when I was in Sec 3, I was made to drop the subject. The second part is human geography, which is about human populations and stuff like that. I found that a bit more interesting although I had already dropped the subject.
History is very similar to Social Studies, in the sense that you read about facts and policies that were made in the past, and then you have to analyse how successful it was and give your opinion on it (if you want to score well, that is. If you just want to pass, you just need to memorise the facts and write them out in your essay.) There are also source-based questions where you are given political cartoons or newspaper articles and you have to infer what the author is trying to imply (eg whether he is supporting one party or another or if he is being neutral)
It all depends on your interest. There is no "easier" subject between the two.

history and geography move together if you look at the big picture...
geography of an area shapes the history of an area because the people there do what they have to do within that area..
do not look at each "subject" as itself isolated from the others..
btw... an even further study into geography would lead you to geophysics and that would require a shitload of math, physics, civil engineering, and other types of sciences...
Geography!
I'm not sure about history, as I myself is a geography core student (I am bias)
But basically, geography is about understanding and applying. However, there are examples that you have to memorise.
There are two components in geography.
Physical: Interesting stuff about the natural things on earth , like plate tectonics, rivers and coasts and other stuff. If you're a big fan of physics and chem, you'll love it as they explains the motion and stuff about friction etc.
Human: Hmm, more about the world around us, and trends due to development, such as development, industrial world, geography of food, and tourism ! Its rather related to economics and its about thinking logically. For example, why would there be an increasing trend in tourism? Cause people are getting richer and like technology is improving!
