hi, for those taking olevels social studies this year, may i know what are your views towards the topics that may come out this november? will venice come out? many schools are spotting venice but unfortunately, my sch dont.
do post your predictions and your school's carefully thought predictions ^^
Hi I'm taking my O levels this year as well, and many of my friends also decided to study Venice, but I once heard my teacher said not to study Venice, although it's content is so much lesser than the other themes. Nevertheless, I think I will be studying Venice also in case it really comes out.
“Tikam Tikam” is a vocabulary from the Malay language "The Guessing Game". The literal meaning is random pick and in old days, it was a traditional game where people get to pick random numbered tickets and have a chance to win prizes...
"Tikam-Tikam" was a very popular game in the 1960’s, 70's and 80’s which kids enjoyed playing.
@Rockatron thanks for response, i decided not to study Venice, dont really understamd and dont really have much resources from school to do it. Nevertheless, goodluck for your O's! Cheers.
@eac after olevel.
TIKAM (tee-kum)
To tikam means to choose randomly. From the Malay phrase "tikam-tikam".
Commonly used among primary/ secondary school kids who need to answer multiple choice questions (MCQs) or guess the topics that come out in exams.
"Aiyah, the MCQs si beh difficult, man. All donno how to do, so I just tikam all the way, lor."
"Eh, you choose which topics to study for Social Studies?"
"Tikam lah. If study the topics come out in exam, heng hoseh good lah! If no come out, jia liat liao, anyhow tikam-tikam hantam bola answer."
