I got promoted to JC2. However, throughout the whole year I have been playing and slacking. Managed to pass my physics as my only H2 subject. Maths and chemistry failed but still can promote. Didn't meet my school's promotion criteria but after heavy moderation I passed my Chemistry with an E.
Foundation is not there, I have problems with all my H2s and H1s. i.e. PCM and Econs. GP is not much of a problem for me though.
Wondering how I can make full use of my holidays? I counted minus all those days I am busy I have about 5 weeks. (Approx 35days)
Is it possible to catch up the whole thing? Please advice on how I should catch up.
Thanks in advance.
tl;dr,
I barely scraped through promos, but I still promoted. Any tips to catch up?
Hi! You are not alone! It is very common to fail some subjects. I saw a chem paper at a neighbourhood JC this year and it was tougher than NJC prelim qns 2011 in general.
What is more important is your attitude. You have to cut down on playing and less computer and hp and other distractions.
Plan a study timetable. Ask your good classmates for help in questions that you do not understand. Learn to ask questions and think a bit deeper.
For chem, maybe you can get some neighbourhood JC lecture notes (eg. IJC, YJC) if you find your notes a bit cheeem. These notes are usually clearer and more basic. But they may lack the advanced stuff that RJC notes have. Or you can purchase C S Toh's yellow color guide book. Study the notes, ask questions, and practise your tutorials and some promos qns from past years. make your own notes.
Most important is to be disciplined. You can make it!
Or you can consider some tuition for your weakest subject.

Hi,
For Maths, do attempt all the TYS questions of JC 1 topics and redo all your MYE and Promo exam papers.
Thanks.
