The new syllabus will be taught to sec 3 students starting from the year 2013 and the first batch of students will take the new syllabus exam in the year 2014.
Changes in the new syllabus
* exclude solving simultaneous equations using inverse matrix method
* include the use of
a^3 + b^3 = (a + b) (a^2 - ab + b^2)
a^3 - b^3 = (a - b) (a^2 + ab + b^2)
in polynomials and partial fractions
* same exam format
Thank you for your kind attention.

The various O level Additional Mathematics textbooks have been updated with the new
changes in syllabus eg the factorising and solving that make use of a^3 + b^3 and a^3 -
b^3.

Indeed, the solving of simultaneous equations by the inverse matrix should be removed from the AMaths syllabus or move to the syllabus of the EMaths.
However, the new batch of AMaths students will be deprived of one very easy question in their O level AMaths exam.
the normal sub or elim method suffice

The matrix method can be used to solve multiple equations with multiple variables.
The teaching of inverse matrix method to solve 2 simultaneous equations in O level AMaths is to prepare the students for the topic of solving of multiple linear equations with multiple variables in H2 Maths.
N Level Additional Mathematics TYS is out and it is published by SAP.
