hihi all, a general introduction of myself, I'm 21years old, an nsf. left 10 more months to ORD though. :(
Here's the problem, I've only had an O level cert and I am now stuck in life. I've no idea on how to lead my life. I'm thinking about signing on as a last resort honestly. & the reason I placed it as my last resort was because I hate something which seizes my freedom so yeah. & the pay isn't gonna be whoo woah but still able to feed myself though.
I've been thinking on and on for months and months before starting this thread.
I'm one who loves travelling instead of staying in this little red dot. I love to deal with investments, trades and stuff. I like to cook. I love appreciating the artworks of interior and architecture designs. I love to advertise and market stuffs.
My family is just like any average joe though, ain't super rich or whatsoever. So the funds to fund my studies is quite limited.
The help and guidance i need from you guys is what kind of diploma should I take on?
I only gotten 3 credits on my O levels and I dropped out from ITE due to lost of interest in the course and totally regretted on what I've did back then and everything so poly is out of the question :(
I would really appreciate you guys for your guidance and comments!
"I love to deal with investments, trades and stuff. I love appreciating the artworks of interior and architecture designs. I love to advertise and market stuffs."
From what you described, I suppose you'd be interested in a course about business, finance, marketing, or mayb architecture (which is totally different from the earlier mentioned courses though). I'm a little confused though. You mentioned that "poly is out of the question" so why did you ask in the title about what diploma to take? I presume you were asking about an ITE course instead?
Hi there.
I'm confused too :(. I've been thinking lately which of these am I really keen into but in the end I've equal level of interest in all of it.
Well, the moderator shifted my topic here and changed my tittle so this is how it happened. What i was trying to mean was which private diploma and instituition should i go to? & the reason why I'm not gonna go to ITE and to a polytechnic in the end is because I want to go to the working society as fast as possible to aid my family in terms of income and stuffs. & I've no interest in working at the govt sector so that is why I choose to take up a private diploma.
& here's what I'm stressed about, if I've made the choice to take up which diploma...
I'm thinking to sign on 5 years as a supply specialist with the SAF, meantime do a part time diploma/degree in SIM or whichever good institute that provides part time diploma+degree schemes. Being paid 1.8k gross per month. But the bad thing is I will really have super limited time for myself and my family + not really enough time to do revision and things like that.
2nd thought, ORD-ED>GET DIPLOMA>WORK<do part time degree> and life goes on. But here's the problem, I will not have working experience at the age of around 25 as a fresh grad with a diploma, I will be struggling working part time job and juggle with my studies. & could barely survive every month.
I'm really stressed out. Would be glad if someone could enlighten me. lol

I suggest that you don't sign on if you think you won't have interest in the job. 5 years is quite a long time and you may suffer everyday and regret if you make the wrong decision. And as you mentioned, you will have really limited time to yourself. Life will be very hard.
The second decision isn't that bad to me (although I'm ready to be corrected). Not having working experience at 25 is not ideal but is not the end of the world as long as you don't make ridiculous salary demands. You can still get hired. And at least you can get a salary that is better than the $1800 if you sign on.
