Viacom sues YouTube for US$1 billion

well, the news is out...
in a mad grab for money, Viacom has sued YouTube and its owner Google for US$1 billion..
Google recently bought YouTube for $1.65 billion..
it is said that Google was in negotiations with the various companies (Viacom included) to pay them for rights so that people can throw their stuff in YouTube.. however, it would seem that greed got the better of Viacom and they decided to sue Google for that unreasonable sum...
considering the fact that Google and YouTube are raking in money from advertisers because they are the most visited URLs in the internet, and they are in negotiations with the companies for payment of rights, it is in very bad faith that Viacom is doing this..
but then, since when did anything like ethics get in the way of the pursuit of money by the corporations?
that aside, the observers are watching this and billing it as "the old media" vs "the new media"
i'll be watching this closely too -

Youtube's case is that all the media companies can object and Youtube will remove but Viacom never objected...
