No... at the end of Johto League, they went back to Viridian City and part ways there. The Nurse Joy repaired her bike then she took the bike go back to Cerulean Gym. Apparently, her sisters strike Lottery or something, then go tour liao, so she must take care of the gym.
Then Ash left all his Pokemon and Oak's and took Pikachu only to start anew and went to Hoenn for his new adventure. He got Top 8 in the Hoenn League.
Then he went back to his country Kanto and beat the 8 Frontier Brains to earn the 8 Frontier Symbols, each of them are supposelying as strong as the Elite 4, the last Frontier Brain even used 3 Legendary Pokemon, but Pikachu used Volt Tackle (Pikachu exclusive attack introduced in Pokemon Emerald) to take down RegiIce and helped Ash win the last Frontier Symbol.
Then after that, Gary came back from a new country called Sinnoh with a new Pokemon Eleckible, which owned Ash's Pikachu... then Ash decided to go journey to Sinnoh. He left all his Pokemon at Oak's and started afresh with Pikachu.
