Mudhalvan (1999) is a Tamil film directed by Shankar, later re-made in Hindi as Nayak: The Real Hero. The film stars Arjun, Manisha Koirala and Sushmita Sen.This story was inspired by the Frost/Nixon Interviews that were broadcasted in the U.S. in 1977. The film's score and soundtrack are composed by A. R. Rahman. A reporter critically interviews a minister on a talk show one fine morning and gets challenged to accept the role for one day, he accepts it and soon finds himself embroiled in political intrigue. This film was a tremendous success at the box office and continued Shankar's dream run. It won the Filmfare Best Tamil Film Award in the year of its release.. The hit song Shakalakka Baby by A.R.Rahman went on to gain international acclaim appearing in Andrew Loyd Webber's Bombay Dreams and Kelly Poon's Soundtracks. Former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen also makes a cameo appearance for the song. -

What a movie.It’s amazing story. Never seen
such a movie..started off as a normal interview on TV and went on to become something totally different. it sprout goosebumps throughout its playtime. story is showing what is happening in S'pore today too. Power play and politics are always the gutterI am fascinated by ordinary people who do extraordinary things. I like to read stories about them, I love to see movie based on such characters

i took air india to mumbai, watch an indian movie until the end, still cannot finish, sleep and wake up still the same movie...the fat indian aunty stewardess woke me up, and i asked her "has the movie finished, mdm", she told me not yet, continue on my return trip, oh my gosh!!!

its watchable for the subject content, tight screenplay and narrative. a few perks here and there such as well made action scenes.

i just went to Mustafa to buy this show. The DVD quality picture and sound seems to be much better on huge large screen tv in my room than the youtube clips.
