A while ago, Pooja had the same treatment done on her upper lip from New Look Cosmetic Laser Clinic at Grant Road, so she thought nothing of going back for her legs. Just like last time, she was told she could go to the clinic’s Back Rx Spine Care centre at Worli, which also had the laser facility. On Saturday, as she was getting the treatment done, she complained to technician Kavita Rao that she was experiencing pain on her right leg. “Kavita told me I would have to bear with it for a while. She continued the treatment on my left leg and it started hurting even more, but Kavita did not stop.” “When she took off the wrap, there were several burn marks - one wound behind my left knee is so deep, the skin has peeled off. “Kavita panicked and immediately phoned a certain Dr Chitra, who rushed to the clinic. She told me my wounds were superficial so the marks would vanish in a few days,” recalled Pooja, saying that she was asked to go home and make her payment of Rs 20,800 later. However, even after applying the cream and taking the tablet prescribed by Dr Chitra, her wounds were still as painful on Monday, which is when her parents found out. “We took her to our family doctor, who said the medication prescribed by the clinic would not help and asked us to stop it right away,” said Pooja’s father. After putting her on the medication prescribed by their own doctor, Pooja’s parents on Tuesday filed an FIR with Worli police for faulty treatment and administering wrong medication. Rao said in her defence, “We spoke to her mother on Monday, who told us everything was fine. As far as I know, the burn marks were superficial.” Suraj Choksi, Director of New Look, said, “This is really unfortunate. We are following up the issue with the doctor at our clinic, who is not in town. The laser machine used for her treatment was serviced recently and has no defects.” PSI Mohan Nalawade said, “We will now examine the laser machine at the cosmetic clinic and will book the person responsible.” |

look at the article. "she thought it would help her look attractive at all times". do you think it was worth the risk to do that?

but still, risking it all for such a dangerous procedure doesnt apply to all
Originally posted by nightzip:it is soo obvious the technician Kavita did not have enough experience or not taught properly how to operate the laser machine.
Kavita, despite listening to his client’s plea for pain did not stop as he/she is not service minded and just stupidly follow the instructions as was told to him/her without knowing that a NEWLY calibrated laser machine is ALWAYS stronger because a new source is being used. And that people’s skin quality and thickness varies.
still, u cant point the finger directly at her for what happened. the company's training also plays a part in this.
Oh my... that's scary...
Both the employer/employee are responsible for the result. Couldn't imagine this is the result from the services you paid for.......... thats kinda sad to see such clinics exist in Singapore.
