Kong Meng San Phor Kark Si (Bright Hill Temple). You may check the link below. It is advisable to learn from temples which practise true Buddhism.
From what I read here,Dawn seems to be a wise old bird who knows everything.
Okay,thanks...I was brought up in a Buddhist/Taoist family but did not have much interest until now.

Ha ha...... knows and realises are 2 different things. In Buddhism, knowing is not good enough, must reach realisation which I'm far from it.

No worries. No mistake, my friend. Cannot kill unnecessary at all times, not just on the 1st and 15th day of the month but can kill when necessary especially when it can save lives. Buddhism is very practical and flexible.
beauty sleep is waiting....
i mean....sleep well is also important for meditation....

When I go from hence
let this be my parting word,
that what I have seen is unsurpassable.
I have tasted of the hidden honey of this lotus
that expands on the ocean of light,
and thus am I blessed
---let this be my parting word.
In this playhouse of infinite forms
I have had my play
and here have I caught sight of him that is formless.
My whole body and my limbs
have thrilled with his touch who is beyond touch;
and if the end comes here, let it come
---let this be my parting word.
Tagore
To Beloved Husband, Michael:
"Sometimes I am beset by fears that circumstances and national considerations might tear us apart just when we are so happy in each other that separation would be a torment. And yet such fears are so futile and inconsequential: if we love and cherish each other as much as we can while we can, I am sure love and compassion will triumph in the end."

"In the end, truth cannot really be separated from sincerity and goodwill. I cannot claim that in every situation I am able to see the truth. But one does one’s best to be sincere in evaluating a situation, making an honest distinction between what is right and what is not. If you do so you are on the side of truth. But truth is a large concept. Pure truth, absolute truth, is beyond ordinary beings like us because we cannot see things absolutely and as a whole. But we try our best. I think of all of us who are on the side of truth as struggling towards it, rather than in full possession of it. Truth is something towards which we struggle all the time."

truth has to be engaged, and the natural flow of emotion runs through it...hence life is given the meaning, and we learn to conquer the pain through engaging it, not only by silent reflection, but could also actively adding value to the society at large...
"When bombs begin to fall on people, you cannot stay in the meditation hall all of the time. Meditation is about the awareness of what is going on-not only in your body and in your feelings, but all around you."
